This is Davide Grotta

I am an independent documentary filmmaker and photographer.

Graduated in Marine Archaeology, I began to take photos during excavation campaigns in the Mediterranean Sea. I later move to Cambodia working as a photojournalist and reporting on social issues for 3 years.

Vice president of the cultural association Zabbara, I am interested in social and environmental issues and I collaborate with several organisations (Intersos, UNHCR, WeWorld, Oxfam, UNESCO, Giant Trees Foundation, Alexander Langer Foundation, and others).

Always ready for adventure and travel, in 2018 I crossed the Atlantic Ocean on board of the catamaran Bittersharp, and in 2019 I took part of an expedition searching for the tallest tree in Ecuadorian Amazonia.

After graduating in Direction and Project Development at the documentary film school Zelig in Bolzano, in 2016 I shoot my first documentary Hidden Photos, winner of several awards.

I currently work as assistant director and location manager in the film industry, and I am available for editorial and filmmaking assignments worldwide.
